Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal (HRA) and White Mountain Training Institute (WMTI) jointly organized a five days long Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training program from April 17 – 21, 2016 (2073 Baishak 5 – 9) at the HRA Head Office, Dhobichaur, Lazimpat, Kathmandu. The objective of this training programme is to train representative from the community so that the people from the community can response immediately during the emergency such as earthquake, flood, avalanche, fire and communicable diseases etc. Therefore, the participants were represented from the various wards of Kathmandu Municipality, tourism associations and from Department of Tourism. Senior Instructor Dr. Behrouz Moghadassi provided training to the 37 participants.
Honorable State Minister of Culture, Tourism & Civil Aviation Mr. Bal Bahadur Mahat was invited as the Chief Guest. During the closing ceremony of training programme, HRA Chairman, Mr. D.B. Koirala welcomed to Chief Guest, distinguish guests, participants and media persons. Mr. Koirala thanked to all the participants for their hard work and he hoped for the maximum utilization of the knowledge that they acquired during the training programme. While speaking, Mr. Koirala also said that that HRA has entered in the city to help people during disaster situation. Chief Guest, Hon’ble State Minister Bal Bahadur Mahat handed over the certificate to the participants and gave suggestion to the participants for the best use of training. Honorable Minister also honored Senior Instructor Dr. Behrouz Moghaddasi by khada. He appraised the work of HRA and also assured that the government will always support HRA.
“Vote of Thanks” was given by the President of White Mountain Training Institute (WMTI) Mr. Hari Dharel. He expressed gratitude to all concerned for their cooperation and positive support to make this training programme successful.
