Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal (HRA) organized a talk programme at hotel Shangrila, Kathmandu on Wednesday 10th June 2015. This talk programme was organized keeping an objective to disseminate the information about the recent condition of Khumbu valley and situation of health facilities including HRA as well as to share the experience of Dr. Rachel Tullet.
Dr. Rachel Tullet was a resource persons for this presentation. Dr. Tullet was a volunteer doctor for HRA Everest ER 2015 season. She was working at Everest Base Camp (EBC) during the time of earthquake and avalanche at EBC. She herself was inured by the avalanche and had to treat herself. After that Dr. Tullet and Dr. Megan Walmsley lead the medical mission at Everest Base Camp with the help of other doctors and Sherpas at EBC.
Later all the expedition team cancelled their expedition and Dr. Tullet and Dr. Walmsley retured to Kathmandu. Dr. Rachel went back to New Zealand for treatment. After feeling better she returned to Nepal and sent to Barpak and Laprak for medical mission. Dr. Tullet then trekked all the way to EBC to check the recent condition and condition of the HRA Pheriche Aid-post.
This programme was attended by Secretary, Ministry of Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation as a Chief Guest. Representative from various diplomatic missions in Nepal were present in this programme. This programme was also attended by the Director General, Department of Tourism and many other high level government authority including representative from Nepal Army, Nepal Police, Armed Police Force, Chairman of various tourism associations, helicopter companies, representative from Nepal Tourism Board and Executive Member of HRA.
“This talk presentation is very interesting including much useful recent information, which many people were eager to know” said by many representative from diplomatic missions.
