A Mountain Safety Training /Workshop for Trekking Guides/Porters was organized by Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal for two days from 24 – 25th June, 2009 (11-12th Ashar, 2066) at HRA office, Dhobichur, Lazimpat, Kathmandu. The main objectives of this training program is to educate trekking guides & porters on mountain safety.  This training workshop will help them to prevent Altitude related accident and illness while going to the mountains. HRA has been providing this kind of training to Guides/Porters since last 8 years at various places like Rasuwa, Lukla, Pokhara & Kathmandu. And this time HRA conducted this program at Kathmandu.

Chairman of HRA, Mr. Bikram Neupane, chaired the Inauguration ceremony. The program was inaugurated by Mr. Tek Chandra Pokharel, Patron of HRA by lighting on Panas. He shed light on the history of HRA. Likewise, Secretary General, Mr. Kumar Ranabhat highlighted about the training programe. Vice Chairman Mr. D. B. Koirala “Thanks” to all the present distinguish guest, participants and media person.

Closing Ceremony:
39 participants took part in the training workshop and were awarded by certificates by HRA Chairman, Mr. Bikram Neupane. There were lots of positive response from participants, they have submitted an appreciation letter to HRA jointly. At last HRA Chairman thanked to everyone present in this training program to make this training grand success.
