Kathmandu: Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal (HRA) and Rescue Global (RG) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) along with a commitment of cooperation and collaboration on Disaster Risk Reduction and Response (DRR&R). 


HRA Chairman Mr. Narendra Deo Bhatta and CEO of RG, Mr. David Jones signed the MoU on behalf of their respective organizations.


The two organizations have committed to carry out joint activities in the area of Disaster Risk Reduction and Response (DRR & R) in Nepal and other countries in need.


The six-point MoU plans to organize trainings on areas of specific expertise including Search and Rescue (SAR), Command and Control (C2), DRR&R operations planning, multi-agency collaboration and specialist communications and technology during crisis events.


The other areas of cooperation focused on MoU are joint training and simulation activities for HRA and Rescue Global personnel; mutual external communications/PR support and promotion; identifying and pursuing mutually beneficial fundraising opportunities to support areas of collaboration; mutually beneficial relationship with governmental and other organizations concerned with disaster risk reduction and other activities to advance the mission of both the organizations.


Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA) is a nonprofit, non-governmental voluntary organization formed in 1973 with an objective to reduce casualties in the Nepal Himalayas.
United Kingdom registered nonprofit entity Rescue Global (RG) is  also a charity working on disaster risk reduction and response activities in different parts of the world.
