A Press Meet was organized at the HRA Office on Friday 10th April 2009 regarding an Official Twenty20 Cricket Match. “The Everest Test 2009” to be played at Gorakshep (5165 m.) near the Everest Base Camp.

50 member expedition team including players, officials, medics environmentalist, media, lawyer and photographer arrived Kathmandu on 10th April, 2009. This event is organized by a British organization “The Everest Test 2009” logistic support will be provided by “Peace Nepal Treks” and altitude medicine support by Himalayan Rescue Association Nepal (HRA).

Both teams Hillary and Tenzing which has ever played aim to break the world record by playing the game of cricket at the highest altitude.

During the Press Meet Mr. Bikram Neupane , Chairman of HRA welcomed to all the players, distinguish guest, media representatives and others  present on this programme. He also shed light on HRA activities. Likewise, Mr. Binay Pandey, President of Cricket Association of Nepal and Mr. Subash Niraula, Senior Director of Nepal Tourism Board extended best wishes to the team. Richard Kirtly, expedition Leader shed light on Cricket Mission and Team Hillary Captain spoke on the technical side of the cricket.
